The Divine Gift of Music

Dear Sisters in Christ,

As Women Warriors of Light we are constantly searching for powerful tools to use in our fights against the adversary. As a mother, I've witnessed the incredible power of music in my children's lives. The Bible teaches us about the significance of music in our spiritual journey, and I've seen it firsthand with my kids.

My daughter Noelle recently started playing the violin in the school orchestra. I believe God knew what He was doing when He gifted my children with a deep love for good music, a passion we share. Her brothers, Jacob and Nathan, each have their unique connection to music. Despite Jacob's challenges on the autism spectrum, he passionately plays the cello, piano, and now wants to learn the guitar, left-handed, showing that music transcends boundaries. Nathan, who faces his own hurdles, finds solace in music. It soothes him when he's upset and connects him to a world of emotions he struggles to express. He often sings loudly throughout our home.

My eldest son, Jordan, is in his senior year and deeply engaged with music. He takes three choir classes and plays the bells. Good music has not only been a source of joy but a shield against temptation in his life.

The Bible teaches, "Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord." - Ephesians 5:19 (KJV)

The power of praiseworthy music cannot be underestimated. It has the incredible ability to chase away the blues, teach children essential skills like rhythm and math, and serves as a universal language. I hope churches, schools and parents continue to recognize the importance of the arts, including music, as they play a significant role in shaping our children's lives.

May we all find inspiration in the divine gift of music, for it brings light to our souls, connects us to the divine, and transcends earthly boundaries.

In divine harmony,

Tamara K. Anderson
