Embracing God's Wisdom for Mental Health

My Dear Sister-Warriors,

Let me share a story with you that touched my heart deeply. A few years ago, I had the privilege of interviewing a remarkable woman on a podcast. She carried the weight of severe mental health challenges, yet her spirit remained unbroken. When I asked her for advice to offer others who might be on a similar journey, she shared three precious gems:

  1. Stop Comparing: We often find ourselves trapped in the snare of comparison. We see the highlight reels of others' lives and wonder why ours doesn't measure up. But dear sister, you are fearfully and wonderfully made, unique and irreplaceable in God's eyes.

Psalm 139:14 (KJV) - "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works, and that my soul knoweth right well."

  2. Be Kind to Yourself: How often do we extend grace and kindness to others but withhold it from ourselves? You, my beautiful friend, deserve the same compassion and love you so freely give to those around you.

Ephesians 4:32 (KJV) - "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."

  3. Look for and Name Blessings: In the midst of life's storms, blessings often hide in plain sight. Take a moment to pause, reflect, and name the blessings, both big and small, that grace your life. Gratitude can be a powerful healer for the wounded soul.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV) - "In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

Today, if you find yourself in the midst of a hard day, I encourage you to embrace one of these pearls of wisdom. Carry them in your heart and let them guide you towards the light of hope and healing.

May the grace of the Lord be with you always.

With love and blessings,

Tamara
